The Future Leaders’ year-long training curriculum is divided into four modules that the class completes throughout the year.

Module 1: MBC Code
In Module 1, the Future Leaders will learn about what makes McLean Bible Church unique. Time is spent learning about MBC’s Core Values, Mission, Ministry Philosophy, Doctrine, Leadership, Ministries and History. This module shows how MBC’s unique “code” influences everything we do as a church.

Module 2: Leadership Development
What does Leadership really look like? In Module 2, the Future Leaders will receive extensive Leadership Development training, learning what it really means to be a biblical leader. Leadership is studied from a wide range of sources, including interaction with the leadership of McLean Bible Church. Topics for this module include equipping the laity, establishing volunteer leadership teams, identifying leaders, building a sustainable organization, innovative management and leading churches that transform lives.

Module 3: Personal Development
In order to lead and develop others, a leader must also spend time developing themselves. Module 3 assists each Future Leader with their own Personal Development. Time is spent on topics such as prayer, communication, self-care, character, ministry ethics and the life of a minister in order to develop the Future Leaders for a lifetime of fruitful ministry service.

Module 4: Outreach
Module 4 examines what biblical outreach looks like in both a local and global context. The Future Leaders will study what God requires of the Church in His plan. Time will be spent examining the lives of faithful servants in history, becoming a world Christian and racial reconciliation. The Future Leaders will also participate in local service opportunities and a short-term mission trip.

As part of their training, the Future Leaders will be exposed to a wide variety of books, articles, and other materials that are a part of the curriculum.

Finally, the Future Leaders will spend several hours each week doing in-depth studies of several books of the Bible. Throughout the course of the year the books of Titus, 1 and 2 Timothy and Nehemiah will be covered. The Future Leaders will delve deep into the material covered in each book and look at what the practical applications to their ministry areas are.
