Ready at any Moment

This weekend I finished my interim position at the Loudoun campus! Back in October I got a call one Saturday afternoon…they wanted to interview me the next day for a need at the Loudoun campus, and they would need me to start Monday morning. Within the next 48 hours I cleaned up, interviewed, canceled a plane ticket to recruit in California, met the Loudoun staff, and filled the position of Director of Adult Ministries at our 1300+ person campus. I was slightly overwhelmed by the changes, yet excited for the opportunity to serve the church. The current director had to take a new job immediately, so MBC needed to fill the role with someone who was available, and God found me faithful to give me that new responsibility. I was now asked oversee our 30 small groups, invest in the leaders, manage McLean University, and support Jim Supp and the Loudoun team. It was originally for 30 days but turned out to be 5 months. It just goes to show you that Future Leaders can go and serve a myriad of opportunities here at MBC. So what did I learn in all of this? 2 Lessons:
Faithfulness – When we are faithful with the little, God will increase our responsibilities in his timing. I was simply doing my best with what I was given in men’s ministry, and then this came along.
Flexibility – As a Christian, we need to be flexible with whatever God wants to do with us. He’s our master, and we must be ready to respond to God’s leading immediately.
