During our time in Rwanda one of the best experiences was how we were each paired up with a World Relief staff member. My partner, Maurice, is a program director with World Relief’s Mobilize for Life. Mobilize for Life is World Relief’s HIV prevention program. World Relief works closely with local churches and pastors to prevent HIV/AIDS in Rwanda, and the program is very successful.

Maurice oversees Mobilize for Life in several districts in the southern and western parts of Rwanda. He’s an incredibly hard worker, traveling an hour both ways via public transportation from his home, and then staying after work in Kigali to attend classes at a local university. It was definitely an inspiration to me to see how hard he works and how much he believes in the vision of World Relief.

Our partners from World Relief were amazingly gracious and always willing to teach us about Rwanda and World Relief. It truly was a great experience.
