Have you seen us on your campus lately? The Future Leaders Program has been recruiting on several campuses in the past month. We’ve been to Moody, Biola, Penn State, Liberty, Messiah, American, George Mason, Maryland, and probably a few others I’m forgetting.
Alero’s been in charge of setting up who goes to each school and making sure we’ve got everything we need to try and generate interest in the Future Leaders Program.
I had the chance to go to American University and George Mason University last week to recruit at The Gathering. It was definitely fun going back to my old school (American) and seeing everything that’s changed and getting to see my friends again. Even more exciting though was seeing the students who were interested in the program. Not all of them were sure they were being called to full-time ministry, but they were all interested in pursuing whatever God has in store for them.
I remember when I was applying to the Future Leaders Program. When I was filling out the application I was able to connect with God in a way that I’m not often able to. It gave me the chance to reflect on all that He had done in the past few years in my life. It was also really great to see all my friends praying for me and supporting me as I chased my dream of working in ministry.
It’s funny now because I remember seeing some of last year’s class recruiting, and it’s awesome to think that maybe next year’s class will remember us at their school. Some of my best friends are from last year’s class, and I think the mentorship the previous class has provided is one of the best aspects of the program.
It’s great to see students interested in the program, and it’s great to talk with them as they’re trying to understand what God is calling them to do after college.
