Who are the Future Leaders, really? In order to help you get to know us beyond the basic information on the bio page, we’ll be doing this series of Q & A posts over the next several months. Hopefully these questions will help you get to know who the 2009 Future Leaders really are!
In this post, Natalie Bingham talks about Kids Quest, Chicago, and life in general.
Describe yourself in 50 words or less
Omaha Nebraska. Chicago. Sister. Brother. Great parents. Loud family. Family vacations. Brown signs. Nomad. Dear friends. Languages. Spanish. English. çka me bo? Jesus. Contextualization. Tall. Music. Prayer. Worship. Jetta. Learning. Includer. Communication. Woo. Strategic. Positivity. Reading. Mischief. Awkward. Half marathon. Skydiving. Informal. Improv. Memorize scripture.
How did you accept Christ?
I was empty. There was nothing in me. Christ filled me. I was 13. He’s still working on me. I’m still following Him. It’s a struggle. It’s amazing.
Where did you go to school?
Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. I studied International Ministries and Applied Linguistics
What are some of the things you do with Kids Quest?
I sing karaoke(worship) with motions, take nervous 2nd graders to Big Church, and have lots and lots of meetings about children. And I wear a lot of orange – just another job hazard.
What is the best part about working in your area of ministry?
I’m expanding my thinking to see ministry from the perspective of families, rather than my Frontline-age self.
What are some other jobs you’ve had?
Dog-sitting in Chicago. Walking high society dogs was a blast. Each dog comes with their own personality disorder.
You’ve been to some exciting places. What are some of your favorites?
Kosovo. It’s a beautiful, war-torn country. The people there are so hungry for something more. Also, Omaha, Nebraska. The underground music scene there is surprisingly unparalleled.
Where would you like to live if you could live anywhere?
I’d live in Chicago. Or maybe Iceland. Or maybe Kosovo. Or maybe Russia.
What is your favorite food?
Sushi. I could eat it every day.
What are you listening to on your iPod right now?
Some music my friends in Chicago wrote.
What books are you currently reading?
A Thousand Splendid Suns – it’s gut wrenching watching the mindsets of bondage and seeing people trapped in their ways.
Thanks Natalie!
