The One

I’m passionate about seeing people encounter Jesus Christ in a powerful way. I believe that the Gospel truly does transform lives and I’ve been blessed to experience that reality through my work at Frontline Arlington.

The past months have been such an exciting time as we’ve seen hundreds of young working professionals pouring into the Rosslyn Spectrum Center and many have recently given their lives to the Lord Jesus. My friend Mike is among those who have made this decision and God has used his life to display that the Gospel is the power of God. Several months ago, Mike joined my Bible study which is geared toward “pre-Christians.” On a recent Monday night before Frontline Arlington, Mike told Edward Hunt (Arlington’s campus pastor) and myself that he was “90% percent there.” This means he was very close to giving his life to Christ. However, he wanted to understand why God would allow the loss of his father five years ago. Our answer? Romans 5:1, which says “Since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

We couldn’t tell Mike exactly why he lost his father, but we did tell him that he could have peace with the past and peace with God, through Jesus. Mike soon looked up from reading the verse that we shared with him and said, “what do I have to do?” Edward and I were privileged to pray with him as he gave his life to Jesus and was rescued by His saving power. Stories like this are what we live to hear about. We’re excited about seeing changed lives at Frontline Arlington and we’re passionate about the fame of Jesus Christ spreading into Washington, D.C.
